Citizenship Bill approved to bring broken constitution back on track: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has said that the Constitution was violated by the then President by not validating the Citizenship Bill which was passed twice and sent to the Parliament.

Answering the questions of the MPs in the House of Representatives meeting held on Monday, he said that the Constitution was violated by the President by not validating the Citizenship Bill.

The then President Bidya Devi Bhandari said that the Constitution was violated by stopping the Citizenship Bill, which was passed twice by both Houses of the Federal Parliament and sent for verification. Prime Minister Prachanda says that the citizenship bill has been approved by the current president to bring the broken constitution back on track.

He said that the new government that comes with the change of government should continue the work done by the previous government.
