Nepal shocked Afghanistan in the Super Six of the World Cup

As part of the ongoing U-19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa, Nepal shocked Afghanistan and made it to the Super Six.

In the match in East London, while shocking Afghanistan, Nepal took a hard-fought and exciting victory by 1 wicket.

After winning the toss, Afghanistan scored 145 runs in 40.1 overs.



Even though it was a modest target of 146 runs, Nepal had to struggle to complete it.

Nepal found the target by scoring 149 runs after losing 9 wickets in 44.4 overs.

When 9 wickets were lost, Nepal’s victory became possible after Subas Bhandari made 9 unbeaten.

Similarly, the half-century made by captain Dev Khanal laid the foundation for Nepal’s victory. He scored 58 runs off 89 balls.

Despite chasing the usual target, Nepal lost three wickets in 24 runs. Arjun Kumal was out for 10, Bipin Rawal 2 and Gulsan Jha 1 run. After that, captain Dev took over the innings and laid the groundwork for victory. But he was dismissed as the seventh wicket. After that, Nepal had to struggle even more.

However, Deepak Bohra’s 27 and Akash Tripathi’s 16 runs were important.

Similarly, Deepak Dumre scored 5 runs, Dipesh Kandel scored 4 runs and Akash Chand scored 1 run. Tilak Bhandari remained unbeaten on zero runs.

Afghanistan’s Faridoon Daudzai took the most 3 wickets but could not win his team.

Now Nepal will play against the opponent of Group ‘A’ in ‘Super Six’. Group ‘A’ has India, Bangladesh, Ireland and USA.
