Soti incident: 8 people were acquitted, 23 people were sentenced to life imprisonment

8 people have been acquitted in the incident that took place in Chaurjahari Municipality-8 Sotigaon of Rukum West on 10th June 2077. Eight people were acquitted in the verdict on Tuesday in the case of the murder of six people, including Navraj Vick of Jajarkot.

A single bench of Judge Khadka Bahadur KC of District Court Rukum West acquitted Tularam Gharti, Dilli Gharti, Lokendra Gharti, Saurabh Pun, Bhim Bahadur Budha, Indra Bahadur Malla, Tul Bahadur Malla and Dipendra Chand.

The district court has sentenced 23 people who are in prison for the crime of the incident to life imprisonment.

Similarly, the court sentenced Navraj’s girlfriend and three members of his family to two years in prison and a fine of 50,000 in the case of caste discrimination. Similarly, it has been decided to pay compensation to the victim at the rate of 40,000 on behalf of the defendant.

On 10th May 2077, Navraj of Jajarkot along with his five friends Ganesh Budha, Lokendra Sunar, Sanjeev Vick and Gobind Shahi and Tikaram Nepali of Chaurjahari Municipality of Rukum West were killed in Chaurjahari Municipality-8 Soti of Rukum West.
